What Did We Learn in 2008? / Survival Strategies for 2009

An Open Discussion About the State of SaaS and Cloud Computing

Where does the SaaS industry and the cloud computing movement find itself as the end of 2008 approaches?  Top line revenues are up for many companies, but at the same time stock prices are down from a year ago.  Join MTLC SaaS Cluster members for special holiday breakfast and an informal but lively town hall style discussion of how emerging economic conditions here and abroad will impact SaaS and cloud computing’s future in 2009.  Listen and talk to local SaaS providers, hosting companies, analysts, consultants, investors, and others in the SaaS community as they answer questions such as:

  • What does the faltering economy and global credit crunch mean for the SaaS market, current players and new ISV entrants?
  • Is this the time for consolidation and shake out among SaaS providers, or accelerated investment in SaaS and cloud computing?
  • Will corporate IT budgets tighten, even for SaaS?
  • Will investors exercise patience and continue funding SaaS portfolios, or start looking for buyers?
  • Will hosting companies change their strategies and tactics, like leasing back equipment to attract SaaS customers?
  • Should SaaS and cloud computing companies change their go-to-market strategies and packaging/pricing tactics to survive and thrive in 2009?
